Environmental Cyclone Recovery
Slash Clean Up - East Coast
Project Overview
Following Cyclone Gabrielle, vast quantities of forestry slash were deposited across the East Coast landscape, blocking waterways, damaging infrastructure, and posing ongoing environmental risks. Parata was mobilised to carry out large-scale slash cleanup operations along the Tokomaru coastline and surrounding areas. The work involved clearing slash from rivers, beaches, and farmland using heavy machinery, controlled burning, and careful environmental management to restore the land and reduce future flood risk.
